Computational Biology is the development and application of data analysis and theoretical methods, mathematical models, and computational simulations to study biological systems on various scales. The EGSB team does a lot of Complex Systems Modeling and Dynamic Biological Modeling to investigate biological properties that might not be otherwise accessible to an experimentalist. Team members also use techniques from Mathematical Biology to develop tools to study biological phenomenon in an analytical and quantitative fashion.
